Pro Ecclesia Sancta arrived to this diocese in July of 2021 at the invitation of Bishop Donald DeGrood. Our priests serve the parishes of Holy Spirit and Holy Family in Mitchell, while our sisters provide youth ministry at O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls.

In this foundation we have witnessed many miracles, from the arrival of new vocations and families who have consecrated themselves to the Sacred Heart, to the gift of the convent of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Minneapolis, where our sisters now live. We currently serve in faith formation programs as well as sacramental preparation at a variety of parishes: St. Mark in St. Paul, Our Lady of Grace in Edina, St. John the Baptist in Savage and Nativity of Mary in Bloomington. We also serve the members of the Catholic Advance Movement as well as youth and families who come to the convent.

In California, the pastoral work has been bearing much fruit: the masses, both in English and Spanish, are always full, as is the Catechesis of The Good Shepherd. Thanks to the initiative of our families, we inaugurated the “Valley of the Sacred Heart” School Coop. In the years that we have been here, we have seen and felt the presence of God through his blessings and providential care. We oversee the care of three parishes in this diocese: St. Lawrence in North Highlands, St. Anthony in Walnut Grove and St. Therese in Isleton.
